Why? It's About Protection
FCB Bank takes security very seriously. We want to continue earning your trust. This means doing everything we can to keep accounts safe. Our decision to discontinue support for IE11 is rooted in our concern for security—a concern based in part by the recommendations of IE’s developer, Microsoft:
- Recent articles from Microsoft’s own security professionals advise against using IE11. (Read this article for details.)
- Microsoft also says that IE11 is no longer suitable for browsing the web. They recommend IE11 only be used for internal tools, such as legacy apps that are not updatable.
- Microsoft no longer offers Internet Explorer. From Windows 10 forward, their default browser is Edge—an “evergreen” browser that will not require users to initiate updates.
In order to provide accounts with a secure experience, we’re following Microsoft’s recommendations and moving forward with plans to end support for IE11. Of course, IE11 is available for browsing other sites and using other applications, but to access online banking a modern, supported browser—such as Chrome, Firefox, or Microsoft’s Edge Browser is needed.
Browser Support Notifications
Soon online banking customers will begin seeing notifications such as ‘unsupported browser experience’ to notify users that they are using a browser that will no longer be supported. It will also help users install a supported browser.
