Economic Impact “Stimulus” Payments

The Internal Revenue Service and the Treasury Department have begun delivering a second round of Economic Impact Payments as part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 to millions of Americans. Together we continue to face the challenges of the pandemic and we understand how important these payments are to so many of our customers. Below is helpful information on how you may receive your payment:

The initial direct deposit payments and paper checks are already being distributed. The IRS emphasizes that there is no action required by eligible individuals to receive this payment. For more information about eligibility, please visit the IRS website.

Paper check in the mail

Due to COVID-19, we encourage banking electronically when possible. If you receive a paper check, you can deposit it with your smart phone using Mobile Check Deposit or at any FCB Bank ATM or drive-up location.

Automatic Deposit

Your payment may be deposited directly into the same account you used when you filed your tax return. The payment will appear in your account summary as “IRS TREAS 310 XXTAXEIP3” or something similar. Use online banking or the FCBMD Mobile Ap‪p to conveniently verify the deposit.

Online Banking Alerts

Create an alert within Online Banking to be notified when your payment arrives. You can also set up account alerts to notify you when:

  • A deposit has posted to your account.
  • You reach a specific balance.
  • A check has cleared.
  • A bill payment or transfer has been completed.

Watch our online banking video to learn more about setting up account alerts. For more information about stimulus checks please visit the IRS website.

Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) - Update

Important: Program extended for new first-time and second-time borrowers through April 30, 2021.

The SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) continues to provide funding for loans to small businesses which can be used for payroll costs, benefits, mortgage interest, rent, utilities, worker protection costs related to COVID-19, uninsured property damage costs caused by looting or vandalism during 2020, and certain supplier costs and expenses for operations. FCB Bank is committed to local businesses and has helped thousands of customers receive these much needed funds.

New First-time and Second-time Borrower Applications

With the passing of the PPP Extension Act of 2021, new applications are now being accepted for first-time and second-time borrowers through April 30, 2021. Below is information to keep in mind as you begin this process:

  • Your first step is to reach out to your loan officer.
  • Please let us know if this is your first or second loan request as there are different applications.
  • Your application will be processed electronically and a link to the online application will be provided.
  • Please remember the application is for the SBA and we are following their specific procedures in order to qualify for program funding.
  • Second-time borrowers have to meet additional criteria:
    • Have less than 300 employees
    • Have used or will use the dollars from the first PPP loan
    • Show a 25% reduction in gross receipts year over year when comparing the same quarter in 2020 versus 2019

Forgiveness Process

Effective March 5, 2021, the SBA is accepting the simplified Forgiveness Application form for loans under $150,000 whereby the borrower signs and submits a one-page certification (3508S) to the lender. Please contact your Loan Officer to complete this process and you’ll receive an electronic file that contains the forgiveness form.
